Sometimes, thyroid FNA cytology results are "indeterminate". For those indeterminate nodules, when indicated, we utilize molecular testing to be able to further risk stratify them. That way, many patients can avoid surgery for those cytologically indeterminate nodules.
Radioactive iodine is, many times, but not always, useful in the treatment of thyroid cancer that is considered higher risk. We utilize the most up-to-date medical evidence and guidelines, and recommend this treatment only when it is truly indicated.
We have successfully localized hundreds of parathyroid adenomas on ultrasound, with very high parathyroid localization rates, significantly increasing the chance of success of parathyroid surgery for our patients.
